Danny MacAskill is a professional mountain bike and street trials legend born and raised in Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

On April 19th, 2009 he released a 5 1/2 minute street trials video on YouTube that was about to change his life. Since his breakthrough, Danny has been riding all over the globe, performing stunning shows in front of large crowds. With the help of his sponsor Red Bull Danny released his second riding clip “Way Back Home” in November 2010. It follows him on a journey from Edinburgh back to his hometown Dunvegan, on the Isle of Skye. It turned out to be one of his most successful videos with more than 43 million views.

In 2012 he was given the honor of baring the Olympic torch during its tour through the City of Glasgow. Since then, Danny has been working closely with his partners to cross the boundaries of imagination and produce unique, breathtaking moving images. In 2013 Danny completed one of his biggest projects: the unbelievable “Danny MacAskill’s Imaginate” clip, which was an amazing success. This viral video has now been watched on YouTube over 93 million times. One year later Danny created “Epecuén” which shows his stunning performance featured in a forgotten city in Argentina. That year marked another big milestone for Danny as he released his first video project on a mountain bike – “The Ridge” – with 12 million views within the first week.

Danny started his own YouTube Channel in 2019 and launched with “Danny Daycare” a clip, which combines excellent riding with a slice of humor that makes the viewers grin. His creativity continues in 2020 with “Danny MacAskill´s Gymnasium”, whereby Danny shows his style of a winter work out.

In 2021 Danny participated in the video MTB contest X-Games from ESPN. He also released a new video “The Slabs” in which he showed his outstanding skill on the MTB. Most recently, he drew attention to global warming by riding his trail bike on a wind turbine and releasing the video “Climate Games”.
